October 4, 2024 - Anni’s Army Foundation is honored to announce our largest Anni’s Gift award, marking the eighth of the year and the fifteenth gift overall. A pediatric brain tumor diagnosis is expensive and oftentimes a parent must make difficult financial decisions to care for their child. Anni's Army Foundation recently provided support to a 7-year-old brain tumor patient and her family in the form of rent assistance. We pray Anni’s Gift can give this family some relief and hope during this time.
August 22, 2024 - Anni’s Army Foundation is honored to announce two West Michigan families were recently approved for “Anni’s Gift” in the form of assistance with rent. One family has an 8-year-old child who was diagnosed with a brain tumor earlier this year and the second family a 2-year-old child diagnosed in 2023 with the same type of brain cancer as Annika. A pediatric brain tumor diagnosis is expensive and oftentimes a parent must make the difficult decision to leave work to care for their child due to the demands of treatment. Anni’s Army Foundation looks forward to continuing to provide support to pediatric brain cancer patients by softening the burden and financial worry for families.
August 7, 2024 - Anni's Army Foundation recently provided the family of a 4-year-old pediatric brain cancer patient gift cards to aid in the purchase of groceries and household items. Initially diagnosed in 2021, this young child was again treated in 2023 and has suffered from extensive complications, requiring inpatient admission for almost a year now. We pray Anni's Gift can provide some comfort and hope during this time.
April 17, 2024 - Anni's Army Foundation recently assisted with a sizable auto loan payment for a 12-year-old brain tumor patient and her family. This young lady was diagnosed with DIPG this spring and is currently in active treatment. We hope Anni’s Gift provides relief to the family so they can focus on their daughter’s fight.
February 22, 2024 - Anni’s Army Foundation recently announced expansion of the “Anni’s Gift” program to Corewell Health East/Beaumont Children’s. Today we are pleased to note our first gift of support to a brain cancer patient at this facility. The 16-year-old patient is in treatment five days a week and requires 24/7 care. The support came in the form of covering a sizeable portion of the family’s auto insurance premium. We hope this eases their financial burden a bit.
January 25, 2024 - Anni's Army Foundation, in partnership with another organization, covered the cost of a new water heater for the family of a teenage brain cancer patient at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital. The 13-year-old girl was diagnosed with a high-grade glioma five months ago. She underwent neurosurgery, followed by six weeks of radiation, and is now receiving immunotherapy infusions every other week. To make matters worse, her father recently passed away. This girl and her family have been through so much. We hope Anni's Gift can provide some relief and comfort they so deserve.
January 24, 2024 - Anni's Army Foundation sent the parents of a pediatric brain cancer patient gift cards to aid in the purchase of groceries. This soon-to-be 7-year-old was diagnosed with a high-grade glioma after several months of symptoms. He underwent neurosurgery and was awaiting radiation to begin when his tumor grew and his cancer progressed. The parents have made the difficult decision to forego further treatment and seek the support of hospice care at home. We pray Anni's Gift can provide some comfort during this time.
December 6, 2023- Anni's Army Foundation gifted Viv, an 8-year-old from Florida, and her family $500 in support of her final trip request. Viv is 18 months into her fight against DIPG and would like to see snow and ski. This tugs at our heartstrings as Annika loves the snow and before her diagnosis was a competitive ski racer. November 2, 2023 - Anni’s Army Foundation gifted the families of a pediatric brain cancer patient gift cards to aid in the purchase of groceries. The 9-year-old boy will be surrounded by his loving parents, stepparents, and siblings as he enters hospice care at home. We pray for peace and comfort during this difficult time and hope Anni’s Gift can provide some solace.
October 26, 2023 - Anni’s Army Foundation is pleased to announce its fifth Anni's Gift recipient. Anni's Army Foundation paid a current propane bill and provided a little extra cushion heading into the cold winter months for a 7-year-old brain cancer patient and her family.
October 11, 2023 - Anni’s Army Foundation recently paid off a large auto insurance bill for the family of a 12-year-old pediatric brain cancer patient through Anni’s Gift. This young lady has had multiple recurrences over the last few years and has moved into post-surgical therapy to fight this latest recurrence. The financial assistance will allow mom to take unpaid time off to take her daughter to clinic and radiation appointments and she is grateful to be able to focus her efforts on providing the care her daughter needs as she continues her fight.
July 23, 2023 - Anni's Army Foundation was honored to meet and support the Lovell family of Belding, MI through Anni's Gift. Hazel, a beautiful and strong 8-year-old girl with Down Syndrome and Autism, was in need of a wheelchair-accessible van. With the help of Anni's Gift, the Lovell family was able to purchase a van for Hazel. Knowing how crucial a wheelchair-accessible vehicle is to supporting children in wheelchairs, Anni's Army Foundation was happy to support this cause.
June 3, 2023 - Anni's Army Foundation recently gifted the family of a 9-year-old brain tumor patient, now in hospice care, a variety of gift cards to aid with gas, groceries, and food to their favorite restaurants. This tugs at the heartstrings even more so as this young man was diagnosed with the same type of brain tumor as Anni. We hope Anni’s Gift provides relief to the family and extra time to spend with their sweet child.
March 28, 2023 - Anni's Army Foundation is pleased to announce its first-ever Anni’s Gift recipient! Submitted for consideration by the Pediatric Oncology team at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, Anni’s Army Foundation approved funding to cover a sizeable utility bill for the family of a 5-year-old brain tumor patient. We hope this support provides a bit of encouragement to the family.
